Lesson Policies

Important information about purchases, cancellations, participation, and community safety.

Purchases, Packages & Expiration

Purchases of class bundles, lesson packages, memberships, and advance class registrations are final and nonrefundable. Bundles and packages must be used within the validity period stated at purchase. Unused sessions or credits expire at the end of that period and are not eligible for a refund or extension. A timely group class cancellation may restore the original booking credit as described below. Restoration of a booking credit is not a monetary refund. Exceptions may be made at Lux’s discretion in special circumstances.

Cancellations & No-Shows

PRIVATE LESSONS

24 hours’ notice

Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged for the full session.

Cancellations within 24 hours and no-shows will be charged in full.

GROUP CLASSES, WORKSHOPS & SOCIALS

1 hour before start time

Please cancel at least 1 hour before the start time to avoid being charged or losing a class credit.

No-shows and late cancellations (within 1 hour) will forfeit the class credit or be charged in full.

Emergencies

We understand emergencies happen. If you’re sick or have an urgent situation, please contact us as soon as possible. Exceptions are at Lux’s discretion.

Health, Assumption of Risk & Liability

Although moderate dancing is safe for many people, dancing involves inherent physical risks. For purposes of this agreement, participation includes attendance at or participation in any Lux private lesson, group class, workshop, rehearsal, performance, social, event, or related activity. You voluntarily assume all risks of injury, illness, or damages arising from or related to your participation. You understand that participation may involve the risk of exposure to communicable diseases, including COVID-19, and you assume full responsibility for those risks.

You release and hold harmless the Lux Parties from any claims for injury, illness, or damages arising from or related to your participation. You agree to indemnify the Lux Parties from any claims brought by third parties arising from or related to your participation. You acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this waiver.

Photo & Video Release

By participating in Lux classes, lessons, rehearsals, performances, socials, or events, you grant the Lux Parties permission to use photographs and video recordings of you for promotional, educational, and archival purposes unless you notify Lux otherwise in writing.

Safety & Conduct

For your safety, as well as the safety of your instructors and other participating dancers, please do not attend or participate in lessons or classes under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Participation in Lux classes, workshops, socials, and events is subject to the Lux Social Dance Code of Conduct. Lux may, in its discretion, remove anyone who violates the Code, prohibit future attendance following serious or repeated violations, and, when reasonably necessary to protect community safety, notify other organizers.
