Our weekly group classes are held at Fitcidence in East Austin. Private lessons are held at our private Southeast Austin studio, and event services can be provided at your venue. Visit the relevant class or service page for current location details.
Do I need dance experience?
Not at all. Many of our students and event participants are dancing for the first time. Our instructors create a welcoming environment where you can learn at a comfortable pace.

Classes & Lessons
Group Classes
Can I start anytime?
Yes. Our group classes use rolling enrollment, so you can join at any time. If you're new to Salsa, we recommend starting with Beginner Salsa.
Do I need a partner?
Not at all. Most students come to class solo. We rotate partners to recreate the social-dance experience and help everyone learn, but participation is always optional. If you would rather remain with one partner, just let your instructor know.
Which class is right for me?
If you're new to Salsa, start with Beginner Salsa. Our Intermediate class is intended for dancers who already understand basic Salsa timing, footwork, and partnerwork. If you're unsure, we're happy to help you choose.
What should I wear?
Wear clothing that allows you to move comfortably. Choose shoes that make it easy to pivot, such as dance sneakers, Latin or jazz shoes, or smooth-soled sneakers. Avoid running shoes or shoes with sticky rubber soles.
What if I miss a class?
Life happens. If you need to miss a class, let us know in advance. We'll do our best to help you make it up during another session when space is available.
Private Lessons
Are private lessons only for experienced dancers?
Not at all. Private lessons are available for complete beginners, experienced social dancers, and everyone in between. Each lesson is adapted to your goals, experience, and pace.
Can I take private lessons alone or with a partner?
Yes. Private lessons are available for individuals or lead-and-follow couples. We also teach both roles, allowing you to focus on the skills you want to develop.
What happens during my first lesson?
We'll discuss your experience and goals, evaluate your current skills, and begin creating a personalized plan. By the end of the lesson, you'll have a clear direction and practical tools to continue improving.
Should I start with a single lesson or a package?
Most students begin with a single lesson to meet their instructor and experience our teaching style. If you decide to continue, our five- and ten-lesson packages offer better value for consistent training.
Can we work on specific goals?
Absolutely. Lessons can focus on social dancing, technique, musicality, confidence, preparation for group classes, wedding dances, or other personal goals.
Wedding Dance Lessons
When should we start lessons?
We recommend starting 2–4 months before your wedding whenever possible. This allows time to learn comfortably, practice between lessons, and feel confident on your wedding day. If your wedding is sooner, reach out and we'll do our best to accommodate your timeline.
How many lessons do most couples need?
Most couples begin with our required five-lesson package. Couples who want more personalized choreography, additional polish, or a more complex routine often choose eight lessons or continue beyond their initial package.
We have no dance experience. Is that okay?
Absolutely. Most couples we work with have never danced before. We'll guide you step by step at a comfortable pace.
Can you choreograph to our song?
Yes. Whether you have already chosen a song or are still deciding, we'll create choreography that fits your music, personalities, and comfort level.
Can parents or wedding parties take lessons too?
Yes. We also offer lessons for parent dances, wedding parties, and other special moments. Tell us what you're planning and we'll recommend the best approach.

Do guests need any dance experience?
Not at all. Guest instruction is welcoming and beginner-friendly, with clear guidance that makes it easy for first-time dancers to participate.
Can we combine instruction, performances, and DJ services?
Yes. You can book one focused service or combine instruction, live performance, DJ services, sound support, and facilitated dancing into a more complete experience.
What kind of space or equipment is required?
A safe, open area with enough room for guests to move comfortably is usually all that's needed. Specific space and sound requirements depend on your group size, venue, and selected services. Professional sound setup may also be added.

Yes. Guest instruction, live performances, DJ services, sound support, facilitated dancing, and private wedding dance lessons can be booked individually or combined.
Can Lux coordinate with our wedding planner or venue?
Yes. We can work with your planner, coordinator, or venue team to confirm timing, space, sound, and setup needs so each service fits smoothly into the celebration.
How much space is needed for instruction or a performance?
Space requirements depend on your guest count, venue layout, and selected services. We'll review the details and recommend an arrangement that allows guests and performers to move safely and comfortably.
